Red Velvet to Countdown to 2024 in Philippines

The K-pop girl group Red Velvet is set to celebrate the countdown to 2024 for the first time. A special event titled “NYE at the 5th: New Year’s Countdown” will be marked in the Philippines, with the group’s members Irene, Seulgi, and Wendy performing. The event is scheduled to take place on Dec. 31 on 5th Avenue, Bonifacio High Street in Bonifacio Global City (BGC) in Taguig. Red Velvet will be joined by prominent Filipino artists for the New Year’s Eve street party.

On Dec. 31, Red Velvet participated in a press conference at the Shangri-La The Fort. During the conference, they expressed their excitement for their first countdown event. Wendy mentioned that it is also their first time experiencing a New Year’s countdown in a warm country and that they are eager to celebrate with their fans.

The members also reflected on their memorable achievements in the past year, one of them being the release of their third studio album, which sold over 410,000 copies in its first week. They also shared their aspirations for 2024, including new individual challenges and the desire to release a new album as a group. Additionally, they expressed their wish to create more meaningful music for their fans.

Furthermore, Red Velvet emphasized how meaningful it is to them to be part of the Philippine event, citing the collaboration with Filipino artists as a special aspect. They also expressed their appreciation for the warm welcome they have received in the country and shared that they look forward to doing more events in the future.
