Mandaluyong adjusts office hours to alleviate traffic congestion
The city government of Mandaluyong has announced that it will be implementing a modified work schedule in all its offices in order to alleviate traffic congestion.
According to a recent order released by the Mandaluyong City Public Information Office (PIO) and signed by Mayor Benjamin Abalos, all local government unit offices will now operate on a 7:00 am to 4:00 pm work schedule starting May 14. This decision was made in accordance with the Metro Manila Council Resolution No. 24-08, which directed LGUs in the capital region to adjust their office hours.
The order also states that heads of offices may use their discretion to ensure effective compliance with the schedule, as long as the needs of the public are met. Additionally, offices with shifting schedules will still maintain an 8:00 am to 5:00 pm schedule, as clarified by the Mandaluyong City PIO.
The goal of this measure is to reduce traffic congestion in the area and improve the overall efficiency of government operations.
