Ajido makes a bigger impact at Asian meet



In Capas, Tarlac, a Filipino swimmer named Jamesray Ajido continued to shine at the 11th Asian Age Group Swimming Championships held at the New Clark City. Ajido, 15 years old, impressed by making it to the finals of the boys’ 50-meter butterfly and 100m backstroke events after registering impressive times in the morning heats.

With a third-fastest time in the 50m fly and seventh best in the 100m back, Ajido is poised to earn more medals after recently winning bronze in the 50m freestyle and gold in the 100m butterfly. The young swimmer expressed his determination to perform well and bring more success to his country, which has already secured a gold and three bronzes in the competition.

Aside from Ajido, other Filipino swimmers like Fil-Brit Heather White and Micaela Jasmine Mojdeh also showed promise by clinching bronze in their respective events. The competition also saw Patricia Mae Santor, Kacie Gabrielle Tionko, Elijah Ebayan, Regina Maria Paz Castrillo, Alyza Paige Ng, and Albert Jose Amaro II securing spots in the finals of their events.
