Sangalang and Abueva, long-time teammates, aim to win important PBA championship with Magnolia

Ian Sangalang and Calvin Abueva are gearing up for another shot at a championship, this time in the PBA.

The Magnolia Hotshots forwards have their sights set on bagging the coveted PBA diadem as they face the San Miguel Beermen in a best-of-seven championship series on Friday night at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

Sangalang and Abueva, who previously won championships together in the NCAA and PBA D-League, are hoping to add another title to their impressive resume.

During a press conference, Sangalang expressed his desire to finally secure a championship with his longtime teammate Abueva, saying, “That would be good to be a champion with Calvin in the PBA, because we have gone through a lot of games, from college to the D-League. So we won championships in these leagues. Now here in the PBA, if we get the championship, it will be a memory we will not forget.”

Abueva echoed Sangalang’s sentiment, emphasizing their hunger and determination to emerge victorious in the upcoming series.

The journey won’t be easy, though, as the San Miguel Beermen are currently on a nine-game winning streak, making them a formidable opponent for the Hotshots.

Despite the tough road ahead, Sangalang and Abueva remain optimistic and determined to achieve their goal of winning a championship together in the PBA.
