Chantal Schmidt from the Philippines clinches second place in Miss Eco International pageant

Cebuana Beauty Places Second in Miss Eco International Pageant

In a recent edition of the Miss Eco International pageant held in Egypt on April 28, Cebuana beauty Chantal Schmidt finished in second place. The Cebuana law student and model was named first runner-up at the event, with Ukraine’s Angelina Usanova taking home the crown.

Schmidt’s achievement continues the Philippines’ streak of placements in the Miss Eco International pageant, with Maureen Montagne and Kelley Day securing similar positions in 2019 and 2020 respectively. The streak began in 2018 when Cynthia Thomalla won the title, followed by Kathleen Paton in 2022. Last year’s representative, Ashley Subijano Montenegro, made it to the semifinals.

Despite facing a medical emergency just days before the final show, Schmidt managed to compete and even won the “Best in Evening Gown” award during the preliminary rounds. She was also named “Best in National Costume” at the coronation program.

Schmidt was appointed as the Philippines’ Miss Eco International delegate in February, following her participation in The Miss Philippines Culture and Heritage Celebration. This national search event, held last year, saw Alethea Ambrosio crowned as Miss Supranational Philippines.

Schmidt’s participation marks the first time a queen from The Miss Philippines competed in an international pageant. Other winners in the 2024 Miss Eco International competition included Nikita Dani from Canada, Fabiane Goia from Brazil, and Valerie Avril from Indonesia.

Congratulations to Chantal Schmidt on her outstanding achievement at the Miss Eco International pageant!
