Lady Falcons hang on to dear life for victory



In a thrilling match, Adamson defeated University of the Philippines with a score of 25-17, 23-25, 20-25, 25-23, 15-13 to keep their Final Four hopes alive in the UAAP women’s volleyball tournament. The game took place at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium, marking the tournament’s return to the historic venue after three decades.

Jimy Jean Jamili was the star player for the Lady Falcons, scoring 16 points on 15 hits. Despite being down 1-2 in sets, Adamson clawed their way back to secure the much-needed victory.

With a 3-8 record, Adamson is fighting for the last Final Four slot, with Far Eastern University (6-4) holding a strong position to secure the spot. FEU only needs one more win to reach the magic number of seven, while Adamson, Ateneo (3-8), and University of the East (2-8) could potentially reach six wins if they sweep their remaining matches.

Coach JP Yude commended his team’s perseverance and determination, emphasizing the importance of willingness to win. The Lady Falcons faced a tough challenge in the fourth set, trailing 20-22 before staging a comeback to force a decider.

The victory ended Adamson’s six-game losing streak and keeps their hopes alive as they continue to fight for a spot in the Final Four.
