On December 11, all seven members of the K-pop boy band BTS gathered to bid farewell to RM and V as they departed for their military enlistment. After RM and V, BTS members Jungkook and Jimin will also be enlisting in the military on December 12. RM and V are expected to serve for 18 months and will be discharged on June 10, 2025.

V expressed his feelings about the enlistment on the Weverse app, stating, “18 months is a long time, and I will come back much healthier, so please take care of ARMY’s health and if you are looking for something to be happy about every day, voila. ! I’m here! And I’ve prepared a lot of things in those 18 months. Please look forward to it.”

All seven members of BTS are projected to complete their military service by June 2025 and plan to regroup as a band in the same year.
