GMA Network Chairman and CEO Atty. Felipe L. Gozon gave thanks and reflected on the blessings in his life, including multiple incidents in which he came close to death in his youth. His reflection took place during his 84th birthday celebration at the EDSA Shangri-La Manila in Mandaluyong City on Dec. 9.
In an emotional speech, Gozon expressed gratitude to the Lord for the blessings he has received and highlighted the importance of faith in his life. He also took the opportunity to thank his family for their unwavering support and love.
The distinguished network executive also recalled four incidents during his youth where the Lord saved him from death. These near-death experiences had a deep impact on him and made him realize the value of life and the importance of faith.
Towards the end of his speech, Gozon made a major announcement, stating that the GMA Board of Directors had approved his retirement as Chief Executive Officer effective Dec. 31, 2023. He revealed that Gilberto R. Duavit Jr. would succeed him as the new Chief Executive Officer effective Jan. 1, 2024. He also expressed his confidence in the future success of GMA Network and GTV under the new leadership.
Gozon also shared selected facts about GMA Network, highlighting its achievements and awards over the years. He praised the network’s excellence in entertainment and news programs and expressed optimism about its future success.
