MRT-3 All Set to Accommodate Increased Passengers for BSKE and ‘Undas’

MRT-3 Assures Commuters of Smooth Operations During Elections and All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days

The Metro Rail Transit-3 (MRT-3) is prepared to handle the expected surge of passengers during the upcoming Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) and the All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days. As part of the “Oplan Byaheng Ayos” campaign, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) has implemented tighter security measures to ensure the continuous and safe travel of commuters during these busy periods.

According to Assistant Secretary Jorjette Aquino of the DOTr, the MRT-3 has initiated stricter security protocols to guarantee the unhampered and secure journeys of passengers during the elections and All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days. Additionally, there are enough personnel on standby to assist passengers and address any concerns that may arise.

Aquino highlighted that the proper maintenance of train carriages and the deployment of an adequate number of trains to serve passengers are ongoing processes, particularly during the peak days of the SK elections and All Saints’ Day.

Currently, there are three to four spare train units, in addition to the 18 train sets operating during peak hours. These measures aim to alleviate any potential overcrowding and ensure a smooth commuting experience for the public.

With the MRT-3’s commitment to passenger safety and efficient operations, commuters can have peace of mind as they navigate through the upcoming busy period.
