Security Guard Killed in Gunfight at Pangasinan Solar Power Plant

A tragic incident occurred at a solar power plant in Barangay Gueset, Bugallon, Pangasinan on Saturday, December 9 when a heated argument between security guards escalated into a deadly gunfight.

The victim, identified as 39-year-old Jeffrey Pandas Camo, was fatally shot during the confrontation. The suspect, 51-year-old Nelson Loriente, was also injured and is currently recuperating in the hospital.

According to police investigation, the altercation began over a dispute involving their service handheld radio. The argument quickly escalated, leading Camo to draw his caliber .38 revolver and shoot at Loriente, who then returned fire with his service 12-gauge shotgun.

Both guards sustained gunshot wounds and were rushed to the Nazarene General Hospital in Lingayen. Tragically, Camo did not survive his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The local authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident to determine the circumstances that led to the deadly altercation. This tragic event serves as a reminder of the potential dangers and risks faced by security personnel in their line of duty.
