A new initiative has been launched by Moonton Games in collaboration with Silab and the Philippine Esports Organization (PESO) to pave the way for female gamers in the esports industry. The Road to MWI 2024 competition aims to select representatives for the Mobile Legends Bang Bang Women’s Invitational at the Esports World Cup in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in July.

Moonton Games BD and partnerships lead, Lee Viloria, expressed the importance of showcasing the talent and strength of Filipina MLBB gamers, highlighting the need for equal recognition in the industry. Silab, spearheaded by prominent women in esports and gaming such as Queen Wasabi and Chantelle Hernandez, is dedicated to creating opportunities and platforms for women to excel in esports.

The partnership between Moonton Games and Silab is a step towards inclusivity and empowerment for women in esports. Apart from the upcoming women’s tournament, Silab plans to organize workshops and seminars to equip aspiring female gamers with the necessary skills to succeed in the gaming industry.

PESO Sibol general manager, Jab Escutin, welcomed the collaboration as a way to further enhance the esports and gaming scene in the country while promoting gender equality in sports. The Silab: Road to MWI tournament is set to kick off on April 21, with franchise teams competing for a chance to represent the country at the MWI event in May.
