Chery Tiggo Defeats PLDT in Premier Volleyball League Match

Chery Tiggo came back from a rough start to defeat PLDT, 14-25, 25-20, 28-26, 25-19, in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Second All-Filipino Conference on Saturday night, Nov. 11, at the Philsports Arena in Pasay City.

The win ended PLDT’s five-game winning streak and broke a three-way tie with Choco Mucho, improving Chery Tiggo’s record to 6-1 in the standings.

Eya Laure led the balanced effort for Chery Tiggo with 18 points, followed by EJ Laure with 13 points and Pauline Gaston with 12 points. Mylene Paat and Cza Carandang added 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Chery Tiggo overcame an early set loss and pulled away late in the fourth set to secure the victory. The match point came from a huge block by Paat and a game-winning play by Jasmine Nabor.

Savannah Davison led PLDT’s effort with 16 points in the losing game.

The win was a significant victory for Chery Tiggo, positioning them favorably in the ongoing PVL conference.
