Shelter for women who are victims of violence inaugurated in Las Piñas



A new shelter and rehabilitation center for women who are victims of gender-based violence was inaugurated in Las Piñas City on Thursday. The Women’s Crisis Center, as announced on the official Facebook page of Las Piñas City, will provide support to women aged 18 to 59 years old. The center was established in response to the increasing cases of violence against women in the area. Services offered at the center include counseling, legal assistance, and livelihood training programs. Las Piñas Mayor Imelda Aguilar and Vice Mayor April Aguilar led the inauguration ceremony. According to statistics from Radyo Inquirer, Las Piñas City reported over 1,880 cases of abuse in 2023.
