PBA 3×3: Meralco and TNT Battle in Quarters



Meralco and TNT Lead Four Teams to PBA 3×3 Second Conference Leg 3 Quarterfinals

On Monday, October 30th, four teams, led by Meralco and TNT, advanced to the quarterfinals of the PBA 3×3 Second Conference Leg 3 at Ayala Malls Fairview Terraces.

The Bolts, Triple Giga, Pioneer Elastoseal Katibays, and Cavitex Braves secured berths in the knockout stage after finishing at the top of their respective pools on the first day of pool play.

Meralco dominated Pool B, winning all three of their assignments. They sealed their spot in the quarterfinals with a commanding 21-9 victory over San Miguel. Guard Jeff Manday contributed 10 points and six rebounds in the win.

TNT, the winners of the first two legs of the conference, replicated their success in Pool A. They secured their place in the quarterfinals with a thrilling 21-19 triumph over guest team MCFASolver. Chester Saldua and Gryann Mendoza made crucial plays down the stretch to secure the victory for the telecommunication franchise.

In Pool C, Pioneer Elastoseal achieved a perfect record with two consecutive victories over Barangay Ginebra (16-12) and Blackwater (18-17). They are already guaranteed a spot in the next round.

The remaining four quarterfinal slots are still up for grabs among Terrafirma, Northport, and San Miguel in Pool B, as well as Purefoods, Blackwater, and Barangay Ginebra in Pool C.

The knockout stage is set to take place on Tuesday, with eight teams competing for the championship and a prize money of P100,000.
