Melencio from La Salle sustains ACL tear

A basketball player from La Salle Green Archers, Rhyle Melencio, has announced another setback in his UAAP career after suffering a right ACL tear. This comes after he sat out the entire UAAP Season 86 men’s basketball tournament due to a left ACL, MCL, and meniscus tear last year.

Melencio, a former UAAP juniors Mythical Five member, expressed his determination to overcome this latest injury. Despite the challenges he has faced, the 20-year-old athlete remains resilient and determined to come back stronger.

During his high school career, Melencio showcased his talent by recording 14 double-doubles in all elimination games of the UAAP Season 85 juniors’ basketball tournament. With a family background in basketball, including being the grandson of basketball legend Tembong Melencio and son of former University of Santo Tomas player Richie Melencio, Rhyle Melencio is determined to continue his journey in the sport.

Although faced with another setback, Melencio remains unwavering in his determination to conquer adversity and emerge stronger than ever. He looks forward to the challenges ahead with a promise of triumph in the future.
