Authorities confiscate illegal drugs valued at over P6 million in April



Police in the Bicol region seized over P6 million worth of illegal drugs in April as part of their month-long anti-drug operations, according to a report on Tuesday.

Brigadier General Andre Perez Dizon, the Bicol police chief, reported that a total of 906.6470 grams of shabu (crystal meth) and 53.1900 grams of marijuana were confiscated during the region-wide campaign against illegal drugs. The total worth of the seized drugs was estimated to be around P6,171,583.

The report also stated that 122 illegal drug offenders were arrested, including 15 high-value targets and 107 street-level targets. Among the arrested suspects, 89 were captured through buy-bust operations, 13 were taken into custody with warrants for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and nine suspects were arrested through search warrants.

Dizon emphasized the importance of community support in creating a safer and drug-free environment for all Bicolanos. He urged the public to continue supporting the Bicol police in their fight against illegal drugs.
