San Miguel Beer Scores Victory Over Rain or Shine in PBA Commissioner’s Cup

In a thrilling match at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, San Miguel Beer emerged victorious over Rain or Shine with a score of 115-110 on Wednesday, Nov. 29, during the 2023 PBA Commissioner’s Cup.

The game saw a standout performance from San Miguel Beer’s Marcio Lassiter, who caught fire from deep in the second half. Lassiter, still getting back into form after an ankle injury, scored 23 points and drained six triples in the final two quarters, including a crucial three-pointer with 43 seconds left in the game to secure the win for his team.

Lassiter’s impressive performance was complemented by CJ Perez, who exploded in the last two quarters to finish with 17 points and 12 boards. Meanwhile, import Ivan Aska remained a steady presence for SMB, finishing with 28 points, 12 rebounds, and three blocks.

Despite a strong first half showing from Rain or Shine, led by guard Gian Mamuyac’s career-high 33 points, the team couldn’t sustain their momentum. Import Demetrius Treadwell also struggled in his debut for the Elasto Painters, scoring just eight points.

The loss brought Rain or Shine to a 0-5 record in the standings, marking its worst start in an import-flavored conference in its franchise. The team will be looking to regroup as they continue their season in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup.
