Manila City Receives Award for Government Efficiency

The city of Manila has been recognized as the “Most Competitive in Government Efficiency for Highly Urbanized Cities” at the recent Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index Awards. The prestigious ceremony took place at the Manila Hotel on September 28.

Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan expressed her gratitude towards the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) for the recognition. The city also achieved other notable awards, including third place in the Overall Competitiveness category.

The evaluation criteria for the awards were based on five key pillars: economic dynamism, government efficiency, infrastructure, resiliency, and innovation. Manila ranked second in the Most Competitive in Innovation and Infrastructure category, fourth in Resiliency, and seventh in Economic Dynamism.

Mayor Lacuna-Pangan commended the efforts of her fellow city officials and employees for their contribution to these achievements. She also acknowledged the support of the Manila City Council, who helped bring her programs to fruition, and the DTI for granting the awards.

“These accolades will serve as inspiration for all of us in the city government of Manila to continue providing the best possible service for all residents,” Mayor Lacuna-Pangan remarked.

The mayor further emphasized that these awards validate the hard work and dedication of city employees and officials in their daily duties. She called upon her colleagues to view this recognition as a motivation to strive even harder and ensure quality service for residents at all times.
