Former Philippine President Marcos plans to travel to Germany and Czech Republic the following week.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is gearing up for another international trip, this time to Germany and the Czech Republic.

The Presidential Communications Office disclosed on Thursday that Marcos and his wife, First Lady Maria Louise Araneta-Marcos, have received invitations from German Chancellor Olaf Scholz for a working visit and Czech President Petr Pavel for a state visit.

These consecutive visits are set to occur from March 11 to March 15.

The president’s upcoming trips to Germany and the Czech Republic come after the visits to Manila of Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala in April 2023 and German Federal Minister Annalena Baerbock in January 2024.

“This endeavor aims to strengthen bilateral relations and promote increased cooperation with the two countries,” the PCO stated.

In addition, Marcos is scheduled to meet with business leaders to enhance trade and investment opportunities and engage with Filipino communities in both nations.

Marcos arrived back in the Philippines from Melbourne, Australia, where he participated in the ASEAN-Australia Special Summit, on Wednesday night. Previously, he had visited Canberra to meet with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and address the Australian Parliament.

The trips to Germany and the Czech Republic will mark the president’s fifth and sixth foreign journeys this year.
