InnerVoices makes a comeback to the recording scene featuring a fresh vocalist and three enthralling new songs.

InnerVoices Band Reconnects and Releases New Songs After Brief Hiatus

Quezon City, Philippines – InnerVoices, a band formed by college buddies in 1992, has recently returned to the music scene with a new lead singer and fresh members. The band, which had previously pursued both professional careers and their musical passion, took a hiatus before coming back stronger in 2022.

During an intimate media conference held at the TakeOver lounge in Quezon City on September 7, InnerVoices’ drummer, Atty. Rey Bergado, shared the motivation behind their reunion and the creation of their new songs. He explained that the pandemic had taken away so much from people’s lives, causing the band to contemplate how they could contribute to bringing happiness back. As a result, they reunited and released their version of Gary V’s hit song “Paano,” which received a warm reception from the audience.

Since then, InnerVoices has been regularly performing at bar gigs, including renowned venues such as Hard Rock Café Makati, Hard Rock Café Manila, Bar IX, 19 East, and Fin & Claw. The band also has upcoming shows scheduled. On November 25, they will be part of the highly-anticipated “New Wave Invasion” concert at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Manila, featuring other top international bands like Flocks of Seagulls, The Church, Lotus Eaters, and Cactus World News. Additionally, InnerVoices will have a back-to-back show with Side at 19 East on November 13.

Angelo Miguel, the band’s new vocalist, expressed his gratitude for being part of InnerVoices, describing the experience as an incredible journey. He praised his bandmates for being cool to work with, highlighting their respect for his opinion and musicianship. They have entrusted him with the role of their frontman, creating a collaborative and harmonious musical environment.

Buoyed by the positive feedback from their audience, InnerVoices decided to release three original new songs. The first, titled “Isasayaw Kita,” is a powerful ballad that delves into the immense pain of losing someone. It was composed by lead vocalist Angelo Miguel, inspired by the heartbreaking experience of his partner’s miscarriage and the loss of their would-be daughter.

Their second song, “Anghel,” is a soulful rendition that explores the concept of unconditional love given to someone undeserving of such affection.

Lastly, “Hari” is a song written by Edward Mitra during the pandemic period. The song’s tribal beat infuses it with an exciting tone as it speaks about hope, perseverance, and resilience. It emphasizes the idea that despite the challenges ahead, our destiny lies within our own hands.

InnerVoices’ comeback signifies a renewed determination and commitment to their craft. Fans can look forward to their powerful performances and emotionally charged songs as they continue to captivate audiences and make their mark on the local music scene.
