Actress Princess Punzalan realizes her Hollywood aspirations



Princess Punzalan has made a successful comeback to the entertainment industry with a role in the popular US series “The Cleaning Lady” (TCL), now streaming on Amazon. After stepping away from show business in 2005 to start a family, Punzalan, known for her brilliance on screen, decided to return to acting and has now landed a significant role in a hit American show.

In “The Cleaning Lady,” Punzalan plays the character of Alma dela Rosa, a vital part of the immigrant story of a mother named Thony, portrayed by Elodie Yung. The series follows Thony’s journey in the US as she struggles to keep her son alive and well.

Reflecting on her experiences working with an international crew, Punzalan noted that despite the differences in language and production methods, the cast and crew of TCL have become like a family. She also shared some off-camera anecdotes, including auditioning for the role while battling COVID and the unique challenges of transforming her appearance for the character.

Offering advice to aspiring Filipino actors looking to break into the US entertainment industry, Punzalan emphasized the importance of staying true to oneself, honing one’s craft, and maintaining a positive and sincere attitude towards others.
