Choco Mucho Dominates Chery Tiggo to Secure No. 2 Seed in PVL Semifinals

In a stunning display of control and prowess, Choco Mucho dominated Chery Tiggo with a three-set victory, 25-16, 25-19, 25-23, securing the No. 2 seed in the semifinals of the Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference. The match took place at the University of San Agustin Gymnasium in Iloilo on Saturday night, Dec. 2.

The Flying Titans showcased their exceptional hitting, tallying 48 attack points, with Sisi Rondina contributing 13 and Maddie Madayag adding nine. Their performance highlighted their dominance throughout the one-hour, 23-minute encounter.

With this win, Choco Mucho has clinched the No. 2 spot in the Final Four and displayed remarkable progress, including a number of shutout wins. The team will move on to face the No. 3 squad in the semifinals, while the Nos. 1 and 4 seeds will compete in a best-of-three playoff. The winners of these matchups will compete in the championship.

Commenting on the victory, Choco Mucho coach Dante Alinsunurin expressed gratitude for the team’s performance, noting their ability to dictate the tempo in the first two sets. Playmaker Deanna Wong credited the team’s system and teamwork for their unbeaten 10-game run.

The Flying Titans’ firepower proved to be too much for Chery Tiggo to overcome, with the latter’s service reception struggles working to Choco Mucho’s advantage. This victory solidifies Choco Mucho’s position as a strong contender in the All-Filipino Conference.
