The entertainment industry and fans of Filipino television are mourning the loss of iconic actor-comedian Jun Urbano, popularly known as Mr. Shooli, who passed away on Saturday, December 2, at the age of 84.

The sad news was confirmed by his son, Chris Urbano, who shared a touching photo of himself and his father on social media along with a heartfelt caption expressing his love for his father.

Reports from ABS-CBN News indicated that Urbano suffered from a ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm, which was confirmed by his family as the cause of his passing.

Mr. Shooli was a well-known television personality in the Philippines during the late 80s, gaining fame with his Mongolian-inspired character and satirical commentary on politics and Pinoy pop culture. Additionally, he hosted a popular TV show called “Mongolian Barbecue” and appeared in various other television shows and commercials.

Urbano’s most recent appearance was in August at the University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City, where he received the prestigious Gawad Plaridel Award. He was also the son of Manuel Conde, a National Artist for Cinema in 2009.

Jun Urbano’s passing has left a void in the entertainment industry, and his legacy as Mr. Shooli will be remembered and cherished by fans for years to come.
