DPWH Enhances Accessibility for Rubber and Coconut Farmers in Zamboanga Sibugay

In Zamboanga Sibugay, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has successfully completed the concretization of a crucial road that brings substantial benefits to farmers in Diplahan.

Director Cayamombao D. Dia of DPWH Region 9 stated that the freshly paved road has significantly shortened travel times, now requiring only 15 to 20 minutes. This enhancement in transportation efficiency greatly facilitates the movement of agricultural produce to neighboring markets.

The project, spanning 6.6 kilometers from Barangay Kauswagan to Barangay Gaulan, stands as a boon for local communities, particularly those engaged in rubber and coconut farming.

Director Dia expressed, “Through the facilitation of smoother product transportation to local markets, the government underscores its dedication to nurturing and advancing the concerns of the local coconut and rubber sectors.”

The execution of this initiative was carried out by the DPWH Zamboanga Sibugay 1st District Engineering Office, with a total investment of P75 million.
