Awra Briguela Breaks Silence on Poblacion Brawl in Makati
Manila, Philippines — Awra Briguela recently spoke out about the controversial brawl that took place in Poblacion, Makati almost a year ago.
In a recent vlog on YouTube by Vice Ganda, Awra bravely admitted to learning valuable lessons from the altercation. “I’m getting better, I’m getting stronger. I owned up to my mistakes. When I was locked up, it felt like I still couldn’t believe that it was happening to me,” Awra shared.
“Even after what happened, even though I was able to go home, I was broken, I cried, that was the time when I couldn’t take it anymore,” he added.
Vice Ganda observed that Awra seems to be in a better place now after the infamous incident. “We all know, including you, that everyone made mistakes. Everyone had their shortcomings and excesses. You admitted that,” Vice Ganda remarked.
Last June 2023, Awra was faced with charges of physical injuries, direct assault, alarm and scandal, and disobedience to a person in authority.
The actor was reportedly involved in a brawl with another group of guests at a bar in Makati City. Videos of the incident that went viral showed Briguela being apprehended by the police outside the bar in Makati’s Poblacion district.
According to the police chief, Awra allegedly instigated a fight with a certain Mark Christian Ravana and his group, demanding that Ravana remove his shirt. The actor also allegedly cursed at the police, leading to his arrest.
