Actor Robert Downey Jr. expresses willingness to return as Iron Man for Marvel movies



Newly crowned Oscar winner Robert Downey Jr. hinted at a possible return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) as Tony Stark/Iron Man in a recent interview with Esquire. Despite Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige previously ruling out a comeback for the character, Downey expressed his willingness to reprise the role, citing its significance to him.

In the same article, Downey’s former MCU co-star and recent Oscar winner Gwyneth Paltrow shared anecdotes about his improvisational skills on set, highlighting his talent for keeping scenes fresh and engaging. Downey, known for portraying Stark in multiple MCU films, including the “Iron Man” trilogy and several “Avengers” movies, also discussed his future projects, including the upcoming HBO series “The Sympathizer.”

Based on Viet Thanh Nguyen’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, the show features Downey as an executive producer alongside his wife Susan. Despite his successful transition to other projects post-MCU, fans remain hopeful for a possible return of the beloved character that made him an international star.
