New album planned for release by the Rolling Stones

The Rolling Stones Announce First Album in 18 Years: “Hackney Diamonds”

Iconic rock band The Rolling Stones, consisting of Mick Jagger, Ron Wood, and Keith Richards, delighted fans earlier this week by announcing their upcoming album, “Hackney Diamonds.” This will be the band’s first album release in 18 years since their 2005 hit, “A Bigger Bang.”

Excitement surrounds the album as it will feature an impressive lineup of guest artists, including Lady Gaga, Stevie Wonder, and former bassist Bill Wyman. Additionally, the late drummer Charlie Watts will be heard on the new album.

Following the announcement of their new album last Monday, The Rolling Stones surprised fans by releasing the first single, “Angry,” just two days later. The track encompasses all the classic elements of a Rolling Stones hit: the recognizable backbeat, signature Keith Richards guitar melodies, and the timeless vocals of 80-year-old Mick Jagger.

The band expressed their enthusiasm for the release, stating, “Hackney may be at the heart of ‘Hackney Diamonds,’ but this is a truly global moment we want to share with fans around the world.”

To share more details about the album, Jagger, Richards, and Wood participated in a live YouTube broadcast from the Hackney Empire Theatre in East London, hosted by “The Tonight Show” host Jimmy Fallon. In a lighthearted moment during the interview, guitarist Ron Wood shared that the album was recorded relatively quickly, stating, “We did it pretty quick actually, lots of ideas were floating about and we made a go of it, gathered them all together Christmas last year,” as Jagger jokingly added, “We’ve been very lazy.”

Adding to the excitement, the band unveiled the music video for “Angry” following the interview. The video features Sydney Sweeney, known for her roles in “Euphoria” and “The White Lotus,” cruising in a red convertible while The Rolling Stones perform on billboards along the way.

Fans can anticipate the release of “Hackney Diamonds” on October 20, marking a significant moment in The Rolling Stones’ legendary career.
