The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has been diligently working on this project, which is now almost finished. The road spans from Naval to Almeria, providing a crucial link between the two areas.
Led by DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan and overseen by DPWH Region 8 Director Edgar B. Tabacon, the project has achieved a remarkable 90 percent completion rate. It involves the construction of a 0.90-kilometer, two-lane road, including road opening, concreting, stone masonry, drainage structures, and pavement markings.
With a budget of ₱45 million, this new access road is expected to significantly enhance transportation between Naval and Almeria. It will facilitate the movement of goods and people, promoting socio-economic activities and creating more livelihood opportunities for the local community.
The DPWH remains committed to the timely completion of this project, recognizing its potential to improve connectivity and boost the economy of Biliran.
