DAVAO CITY (DSWD XI) – Through its Disaster Response and Management Division (DRMD), the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) immediately delivered on Tuesday, March 7, family food packs and non-food Items to earthquake victims in Davao de Oro.
DSWD provided 20 modular tents to Nabunturan, 500 Family Food Packs to Andap, New Bataan, and 500 Family Food Packs to the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office.
DSWD FO XI Regional Director Atty. Vanessa B. Goc-ong and DRMD personnel immediately visited evacuation centers to assess and evaluate the situation and ensure that the Internally Displaced People (IDPs) are appropriately provided with their immediate needs.
A 5.9 Magnitude Earthquake hit the Municipality of New Bataan on March 07, 2023, at 2:02 p.m. Another 5.6 Magnitude Earthquake hit the same municipality at 4:47 pm.
Infrastructure damage and landslides have also been reported. Meanwhile, ongoing validation, evaluation, and coordination with the Office of Civil Defense and PHIVOLCS are being carried out.
