Sixers’ Oubre cleared to come back after a ‘traumatic’ hit and run

Philadelphia Forward Kelly Oubre Jr. Aims for NBA Return After Hit and Run

Philadelphia forward Kelly Oubre Jr. is looking forward to returning to the NBA this week after recovering from a fractured rib sustained in a hit and run incident last month.

The 27-year-old player expressed his eagerness to get back on the court after what he described as a “traumatic” event where he was struck by a vehicle while out walking. Oubre called out conspiracy theorists who questioned his version of events, stating that it was a very traumatic situation for him and his family.

Oubre, who met with reporters at the 76ers training facility on Monday, noted that the incident had been hard on him and his family and that he was grateful the situation wasn’t worse. He mentioned that he was looking forward to returning to work and playing again.

The player is expected to make his return for the Sixers on Wednesday against the Washington Wizards. Oubre is averaging 16.3 points on 50 percent shooting this season and recently signed a $2.89 million deal with the 76ers in September. The first-round pick by the Atlanta Hawks in the 2015 draft has also played for the Wizards, the Charlotte Hornets, Phoenix Suns, and Golden State Warriors.
