Acel Bisa-Van Ommen Releases New Sentimental Ballad
Acel Bisa-Van Ommen, a well-known singer-songwriter, has recently launched her latest single, “Kaba, Kilig, Kuryente.” Departing from her typical pop-rock sound, Acel’s new release is a heartfelt ballad.
This single is a follow-up to her earlier release “My Cure” from this year. What sets this song apart is the collaborative effort involved in its production. It marks the first time Acel requested her session band to work with her on a song.
In contrast to Acel’s previous singles, which utilized digital elements, “Kaba, Kilig, Kuryente” embraces a “rawer” sound. The song, composed several years ago, was initially held back due to its deviation from her usual musical style. However, after much consideration, Acel decided to give it a chance and share it with the public.
The song’s inspiration comes from Acel’s own experience of “kilig,” particularly the fluttery feelings one gets around a crush. Acel believes that the song serves as a reminder to avoid making too many assumptions or relying too heavily on emotions.
Excitingly, Acel has already filmed a music video for “Kaba, Kilig, Kuryente,” which she will be releasing soon. She also has a busy schedule of live performances and corporate event appearances. Furthermore, she plans to release an album next year, adding that being a solo artist allows her more freedom to express herself as a songwriter.
“Kaba, Kilig, Kuryente” is now available on all major streaming platforms, distributed by Sony Music Philippines.
Acel has been a prominent figure in the music industry for nearly two decades, initially as the lead singer for Orphan Lily and Moonstar88. Since starting her solo career in 2004, she has released several albums and even expanded her talents to become a published author in 2015.
