Senior PNP officials recruiting for a plot to remove Marcos

Senior members of the Philippine National Police (PNP) and retired officials of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) are reportedly involved in recruiting members for an ouster plot against President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., according to former senator Antonio Trillanes IV.

Trillanes disclosed that active senior PNP officials have been recruiting since last year, although they have not recruited anyone yet. He also mentioned that retired AFP officials are attempting to recruit active soldiers in the plot to oust President Marcos.

The urgency to remove President Marcos has escalated as the International Criminal Court (ICC) is expected to issue an arrest warrant against key figures, including former president Rodrigo Duterte, by June or July.

INQUIRER.net reached out to the PNP for a response but has not received any comments as of posting time.
