Speaker Romualdez Supports President Marcos Jr.’s State Visits to Germany, Czech Republic

Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez defended President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s recent state visits to Germany and the Czech Republic, citing the significant positive outcomes of the trips in promoting personal interaction between leaders.

Romualdez emphasized the importance of in-person talks and participation in improving bilateral relations and advancing national interests. He stated that face-to-face interactions allow leaders to establish personal relationships, build trust, and better understand each other’s perspectives.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives highlighted that the meetings during the state visits would convey a strong message to the international community about the objectives of the Philippines and the two countries involved.

President Marcos Jr. traveled to Germany and the Czech Republic from March 11 to 15, where he met with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Czech President Petr Pavel. The discussions aimed to strengthen ties and cooperation between the nations.

Romualdez concluded that these personal meetings between leaders serve as symbols of cooperation and goodwill, demonstrating a commitment to advancing mutual interests.
