In a significant development, Cagayan de Oro City Police Colonel Salvador Radam apprehended Bishop Dimver Andales and Pastor Jether Nonot on suspicion of their involvement in the murder of Mr. Cagayan de Oro Candidate Adriane Rovic Fornillos. The arrests were made following the issuance of a Warrant of Arrest for murder by Branch 39 Judge Marites Felomina B. Rana Bernales.
The suspects, Bishop Andales and Pastor Nonot, were taken into custody at the Agora Lapasan Police Station. The arrest comes after a thorough investigation led by Col. Radam, which led to a high level of certainty regarding their involvement in the murder.
Legal representatives for Fornillos, led by Attorney Dale Bryan Mordeno, have long asserted the premeditated nature of the killing. They have been gathering evidence and building a case against individuals of interest they believe are responsible for Fornillos’ death for several months.
The Fornillos family expressed relief and satisfaction upon the arrest of Andales, as they have endured a prolonged wait for justice since the tragic incident took place six months ago.
According to Cagayan de Oro Police Office (COCPO) Spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Ivan Viñas, the two Pastors will be promptly brought to court and then transferred to Lumbia City jail, as the case continues to unfold and gather more details.
