Cavitex Secures Quarterfinals Spot in PBA 3×3 Season 3 Second Conference
Cavitex wasted no time in qualifying for the quarterfinals of the PBA 3×3 Season 3 Second Conference, which commenced on Monday, October 16th, at the Ayala Mall Circuit in Makati. The team, who finished as runners-up to TNT Triple Giga in the First Conference grand finals, secured two consecutive victories against Blackwater (22-13) and Pioneer Elastoseal (18-14) to become the top-seeded team in Pool A at the end of the pool play in Leg 1.
In the win against Blackwater, former 3×3 national player Jorey Napoles led Cavitex with nine points on 6-of-8 shooting, while Kenneth Ighalo contributed six points and six rebounds in their victory over Pioneer Elastoseal.
Following their loss to Cavitex, the Bossing bounced back and defeated the Katibays with a convincing score of 21-8, earning the remaining quarterfinals spot in the same group.
Joining Cavitex and Blackwater in the next round is grand slam winner TNT, currently leading Pool B with a perfect 2-0 record. Gryann Mendoza has stepped up for the Triple Giga in the absence of their top scorer Almond Vosotros, netting a game-high 11 points in a 21-18 victory over San Miguel. Earlier in the tournament, Mendoza contributed eight points to help TNT rally past guest team MCFA with a nail-biting score of 21-20.
The PBA 3×3 Season 3 Second Conference promises to bring even more thrilling basketball action as teams compete for the coveted championship title.
