“UPM Graduates Top October 2023 Physician Licensure Examination”
The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced on Friday, November 10, that graduates from the University of the Philippines- Manila (UPM) led the October 2023 Physician Licensure Examination (PLE). According to the PRC, UPM emerged on top of the results with 164 out of 168 (97 percent) examinees passing the PLE.
Two examinees from UPM, Jon Michael Saluta Kimpo and Tranquil Matthew Apasan Salvador IV, ranked 4th and 5th, respectively, in the top 10 list of passers. Following UPM in the rankings are Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) and Angeles University Foundation in the second and third spots, respectively. Cebu Institute of Medicine (CIM), the alma mater of top notcher Justin Riley Yap Lam, secured the fourth spot in the list of top-performing schools.
The examination, which took place in various cities including Metro Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, and others, was conducted by the Board of Physicians on October 20-21 and 27-28. For a complete list of the performance of schools, click here.
