Aurora officials dismissed without concrete evidence

Former Aurora Governor and Vice Governor Dispute Ombudsman’s Order

Former Aurora Governor Gerardo Noveras and former Vice Governor Christian Noveras are challenging the Ombudsman’s decision to dismiss them from their positions, despite admitting there was insufficient direct evidence against them. The order, signed by Ombudsman Samuel Martires, found the Noveras guilty of grave misconduct, conduct prejudicial to the best interest of the service, and conduct unbecoming of public officials.

The decision, issued on April 5, 2024, stemmed from a complaint filed by resident Narciso D. Amansec, accusing the Noveras and others of conspiring to print campaign materials inside a training center. However, the Noveras argue that there is no proof linking them to the alleged illegal activity.

Furthermore, they questioned the unusual process undertaken by the Ombudsman, noting that a case from 2016 was resolved almost simultaneously with their current case. Despite these challenges, the Ombudsman upheld the dismissal order, prompting the Noveras to appeal the decision.

In light of these developments, the Noveras are determined to fight the allegations against them and clear their names.
