New album ‘Narcissus’ by Korean artist Dawn showcases collaborations with pH-1 and other artists

South Korean artist Dawn, who recently joined label At Area, has released his first mini-album titled “Narcissus.” The album, which follows his last single “Dear My Light,” is described by Dawn as his self-reflection given form. It consists of eight tracks, two of which are in English, and showcases a versatile range of musical styles, including R&B/ballad, pop dance, and acoustic ballad.

Dawn expressed his thoughts on love and self-discovery in the album, stating, “Defining love felt futile, as reality transcended the ideals at times. Parting from love means relinquishing a fragment of myself projected onto them. We’re not merely growing apart. I fell in love with me, and my version of you.”

“Narcissus” was executive produced by GroovyRoom, who leads At Area, and co-executive produced by Gwaca. For the album, Dawn collaborated with renowned artists such as pH-1, 10CM, and Gemini. He personally wrote all the songs in the album, including the main tracks “Heart” and “Star.”

One of the standout tracks, “Star,” is a heartfelt, slow-tempo acoustic ballad co-written by Leez, known for his work with popular K-pop artists like ATEEZ and Dreamcatcher. The album also features two English tracks: “Fallin,” a medium-tempo alternative pop song featuring Korean-American rapper pH-1, and “Abyss,” a mesmerizing synth-pop track.

The release of “Narcissus” marks an exciting milestone for Dawn’s career as he continues to make his mark in the music industry. With his unique style and artistic vision, Dawn aims to captivate listeners with his introspective and heartfelt music.
