Mendoza states LTO will not end contract with Dermalog

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has announced that it will not be terminating its contract with the Land Transportation Management System (LTMS) provider, Dermalog Joint Venture. Assistant Secretary Vigor Mendoza II of the LTO confirmed this decision, emphasizing the agency’s focus on improving services and digitalizing all transactions.

LTMS is an online portal that allows both local and overseas Filipino motorists to transact with the agency. Mendoza stated that the full digitalization of all transactions, from driver’s license applications to vehicle registration, is the priority for the LTO at the moment.

This announcement comes after House Committee on Transportation chairman Rep. Romeo Acop called for the termination of the contract with Dermalog Joint Venture due to alleged breaches and violations. Additionally, several groups have accused Mendoza of failing to implement the LTMS, urging President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. to remove him from his position as the LTO chief.

However, Mendoza has denied these allegations, calling them false and a desperate attempt to mislead the public. The LTO remains focused on improving services and continuing the digitalization of transactions to better serve the Filipino people.
