The highly anticipated 2024 Miss Universe Philippines competition has unveiled the delegates’ introduction video, available on the Empire Philippines YouTube channel. After weeks of releasing various collections of delegate photos on social media, the video offers a deeper insight into the backgrounds and aspirations of the 55 participants.
Reigning Miss Universe Philippines Michelle Marquez Dee, who finished in the Top 10 of the global competition last year, was among the top contenders in the Runway Challenge. The video also marks the beginning of the video challenge series, which includes different categories such as glam, swimsuit, and runway.
The fifth edition of the pageant will crown a representative to compete in the 73rd Miss Universe pageant in Mexico, aiming to secure the country’s fifth victory in the international competition. The Philippines has produced four Miss Universe winners in the past – Gloria Diaz (1969), Margie Moran (1973), Pia Wurtzbach (2015), and Catriona Gray (2018).
