Drake Announces Temporary Hiatus from Music Due to Health Concerns

Canadian rapper Drake announced on Friday that he will be taking a hiatus from his music career to address his recurring stomach issues. This news came just hours after the release of his latest album. Speaking on his SiriusXM radio show Table For One, Drake expressed his need to prioritize his health, stating, “I need to focus on my health first and foremost… I need to get right.” He elaborated on his ongoing stomach problems, revealing that he has been dealing with them for years.

The Grammy Award winner’s newly released studio album, “For All The Dogs,” features collaborations with artists such as Bad Bunny, J. Cole, SZA, Lil Yachty, and includes a sample from Frank Ocean. Notably, the album’s cover artwork was created by his five-year-old son Adonis, who was also featured in a music video for the album’s single “8AM in Charlotte.” Drake showcases his own rapping skills on the track “Daylight.”

Unfortunately, Drake’s hiatus has prompted the cancellation or postponement of several upcoming concerts in the United States, as stated on his website and Ticketmaster. However, his scheduled shows in Toronto for Friday and Saturday appeared to still be happening, with eager fans already spotted lining up.

While taking a break from music, Drake expressed his commitment to fulfill other obligations and promises he made to unspecified individuals. He revealed his plan to “lock the door in the studio for a little bit,” without specifying the exact duration of his hiatus. He mentioned it could be a year or even longer before he resumes his musical endeavors.
