MMDA reveals schedule for upcoming film festival



The 50th edition of the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) is set to take place in December this year, as announced by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Friday. In a press conference led by MMDA acting Chair Romando Artes, who also heads the MMFF executive committee, it was revealed that Manila will be hosting the event.

This year, the selection committee will choose eight official entries, consisting of four script entries and four official finished entries. The festival calendar for the MMFF includes key dates such as the deadline for the submission of the letter of intent on May 15, submission of scripts and other required documents on June 14, and submission of finished films based on script submissions by September 30.

The Parade of Stars is scheduled for December 15, with the official film entries set to be shown from December 25 to January 7, 2025. The awards night will take place on December 27. Additionally, the MMFF will once again host the MMFF Student Short Film Caravan to provide students with an opportunity to showcase their talents.
