UAAP men’s volleyball: Golden Spikers break losing streak, defeat Maroons without dropping a set



The UST Golden Spikers ended their three-game losing streak by defeating the winless UP Fighting Maroons in the UAAP Season 86 men’s volleyball tournament. The game took place at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City. Josh Ybanez led the Golden Spikers with 21 points and 11 receptions, securing the victory with a score of 25-23, 25-14, 25-16.

In another match, the Adamson Soaring Falcons swept the Ateneo Blue Eagles with a score of 28-26, 25-22, 30-28. The game was tight, with Ateneo almost taking the third set until Adamson rallied back for the win. John Gay and Kenneth Paulino both contributed 16 points for Adamson, while Ken Batas led Ateneo with 20 points.

With the victory, the Soaring Falcons, the Growling Tigers, and the Blue Eagles now all hold 3-3 records in the tournament. On the other hand, UP suffered their sixth consecutive defeat in the season.
