Calamba City to resume on-site school classes on Monday.

Online schooling in the Philippines is facing new challenges as students in Calamba City, Laguna prepare to return to face-to-face classes on Monday, May 6. The decision to resume in-person classes was announced by Mayor Roseller Rizal on Sunday afternoon via Facebook.

In anticipation of the scorching heat, students and teachers have been advised to bring towels, fans, and stay hydrated to prevent heat-related illnesses. The local government had previously suspended classes on April 29 and 30 due to a jeepney driver strike and high temperatures. Following this, face-to-face classes were further suspended on May 2 and 3 as schools shifted to distance learning to combat the extreme heat caused by El Niño.

As students and educators adjust to these changes, maintaining health and safety remains a top priority for authorities in Calamba City.
