Saso finds form, puts herself in contention with impressive 63

In Gilbert, Arizona (Saturday Manila time), Yuka Saso put on a stunning performance at the Ford Championship, shooting a blistering 63 and moving up to joint sixth place. Saso’s nine-under par round at the Seville Golf and Country Club course positioned her just three strokes behind leader Hannah Green, who shot an impressive 11-under 61 for a two-day total of 130.

Saso’s exceptional play showcased her skills and potential, making her a strong contender with two rounds left in the tournament. Despite ideal conditions leading to low scores, Green’s outstanding performance kept her at the top of the leaderboard, with Sarah Schmeizel and Peiyun Shien close behind.

Meanwhile, Bianca Pagdanganan missed the cut by one stroke despite a solid round. The cutoff score of five-under tied for the lowest in LPGA history. Other notable players like Lydia Ko, Caroline Masson, and Pajaree Anannarukarn are in contention as well.

Saso’s precision and consistency were evident throughout her round, hitting all fairways and needing only 25 putts. While Green stole the spotlight with her impressive birdie spree, Saso’s performance did not go unnoticed.

With top players like Nelly Korda and Celine Boutier also in the hunt, the stage is set for an exciting weekend at the Ford Championship. Players like Lexi Thompson, Jin Hee IM, and Nasa Hataoka are also in contention, setting up a thrilling finish to the tournament.
