Over the upcoming May 4th weekend, Filipino-Canadian actor Manny Jacinto is gearing up for his role in the highly anticipated Disney+ series, “The Acolyte.” The show serves as a prequel to the famous “Star Wars” films, focusing on the backstory before the Skywalker saga.
Jacinto portrays the character Qimir, a former smuggler, in the series. He joins a talented cast that includes Korean actor Lee Jung-jae as Jedi master Sol, Amandla Stenberg as Mae (a former Padawan turned warrior), and Dafne Keen, known for her role in “Logan,” as Sol’s apprentice.
In addition, the trailer hints at the appearance of “Matrix” star Carrie-Anne Moss, who will play Indara, a skilled Jedi master. “The Acolyte” is set to debut with two episodes on June 4th exclusively on Disney+.
