Spotify Reveals 2023 “Wrapped” List for Most Streamed Artists and Songs
Spotify has unveiled its Spotify Wrapped 2023 list, featuring the most streamed artists, songs, albums, and podcasts of the year. According to Spotify, 2023 was marked by the return of major female pop stars, a diverse range of sounds at the top of the charts, and the rise of powerful genres within the global music scene. “As always, our 2023 Spotify Wrapped campaign reflects these trends, and our top lists showcase how over 574 million people around the world listened this year,” the company said.
The top artist of 2023 is Taylor Swift, who garnered 26.1 billion global streams since January 1. Bad Bunny, The Weeknd, Drake, and Peso Pluma rounded out the top five.
Miley Cyrus’ “Flowers” was named the most streamed song of the year with over 1.6 billion streams globally, followed by songs from artists such as SZA, Harry Styles, and BTS’ Jungkook. Bad Bunny’s “Un Verano Sin Ti” topped the list of the most streamed albums, with Taylor Swift’s “Midnights” and SZA’s “SOS” also making the top five.
In addition to the music, Spotify also released its list of top podcasts for the year. “The Joe Rogan Experience” and “Call Her Daddy” were among the most popular podcasts globally, while U.S.-specific charts featured podcasts such as the one hosted by comedian Theo Von and NPR’s “Up First.”
Overall, Spotify’s 2023 Wrapped list reflects the diverse musical and podcast content consumed by millions of users around the world on the platform.
