The Surprising Happiness of Embracing Single Motherhood

Jennica Garcia, a well-known actress in the Philippines, recently confirmed that she and her estranged husband, Alwyn Uytingco, will not be reconciling. The announcement came during the launch of her endorsement for Queen White skin care products in Quezon City.

When asked if they would get back together, Jennica stated, “I have already given Alwyn a second chance, and there reached a point where I had nothing more to give.” She also mentioned that she does not plan to get married again after her heartbreak with Alwyn, saying, “I don’t see myself doing it again. Maybe in the future, but I can’t imagine it right now. I still need a lot of healing.”

Jennica, now 33, shared that she has gained confidence in herself over the years. She stated, “It’s hard for me to fall in love now. We’ve been single for three years, but as time passes, you learn to watch movies alone, eat alone, and take care of others. I am gaining confidence in myself.”

She continued, “In order for me to fall in love with someone new, they have to be really great. Because how can I be great myself? I don’t want to awaken love. I don’t want to look for it. I don’t want to date anyone exclusively because I know my weakness is affirmations. In other words, I am gullible.”

Jennica also mentioned that she holds no one responsible for the end of her relationship with Alwyn. “I have no regrets for everything I went through. At first, when my heart was broken, I questioned myself and even questioned God, which was wrong of course. I don’t want to appear like I have everything under control. That was nonsense.”

Despite the breakup, Jennica expressed her gratitude towards Alwyn for caring for her and their two daughters for 11 years. They got married in 2014.

Jennica shared that she’s proud of her latest investment, a condo unit, and that she’s close to paying it off. She stated, “I just want to secure my children’s future.”

She concluded by saying, “I am turning 34 in a couple of months, and I really like myself now. It’s a really good feeling that every decision I make in life will benefit me. If I can put myself first, I’ll be able to be the best version of myself.”

In addition to her personal life, Jennica also expressed excitement about the success of her recent TV series, “Dirty Linen,” and how it has changed her life. She revealed that she was ready to live abroad when she was offered a role in the show. She said, “Dreamscape really changed the course of my life. Before ‘Dirty Linen,’ I already had plans to work abroad. My papers were ready and everything. So it’s amazing to see that people love Lala [her character]. It was overwhelming when my character started trending. It feels great when your hard work pays off.”
