“It’s Showtime” Makes Explosive Debut on GMA Network

Noontime variety show “It’s Showtime” premiered on GMA Network with a dynamic opening number that showcased all the main hosts’ talents.

Anne Curtis and Karylle started the show with a performance of “Power” by Little Mix, followed by a solo rope-dancing routine by Kim Chiu. The energy continued as Kim danced a choreographed routine before being joined by Amy Perez, Jackie Gonzaga, and Cianne Dominguez to finish the song.

Jugs Jugueta and Teddy Corpuz then grabbed electric guitars to perform “Let Me Entertain You” by Robbie Williams, with vocals primarily by Ogie Alcasid and Darren Espanto. The rest of the hosts, including Vhong Navarro, Jhong Hilario, Ryan Bang, Ion Perez, MC “Muah” Calaquian, and Lassy Marquez, danced along to the rock-powered number.

The opening took a grand turn with a “Dune”-inspired video of Vice Ganda, transitioning to Vice sitting above the GMA logo on the network’s main building. The video featured Vice singing “Thunder” by Imagine Dragons, “Like A Champion” by Selena Gomez, and “Hall of Fame” by The Script.

Vice wrapped up the opening number with a powerful monologue about their journey to becoming “Asia’s Phenomenal Unkabogable Star,” followed by a rendition of “All I Do Is Win” by DJ Khaled. The hosts greeted Vice Ganda with a shout of “Happy birthday!” as they celebrated Vice’s 48th birthday.

The show marked its new home on GMA with a shout of “What’s up, what’s up, what’s up, Madlang Kapuso!” from the hosts. Vice called the move the “pinakamatinding plot twist ng dekada,” acknowledging the presence of ABS-CBN and GMA executives in the audience.

“It’s Showtime” will now air on GMA from Monday to Saturday, promising to bring joy and laughter to viewers every day. The show also featured a segment with GMA stars joining the hosts, emphasizing unity and collaboration in the entertainment industry.

With “It’s Showtime” now directly competing against “Eat Bulaga” on TV5, the noontime slot has become more competitive and entertaining for viewers.
