Davao del Sur’s Elda Aznar emerged victorious in the recently concluded Miss CosmoWorld Philippines 2023 search, beating out 21 candidates to claim the crown. Aznar not only earned the right to represent the country in the annual Miss CosmoWorld competition in Malaysia but also took home the highest cash prize awarded in local pageantry this year – a whopping P1 million.
Jasmine Omay from Carrascal, Surigao del Sur, a former Binibining Pilipinas candidate, secured the first runner-up position, while Lienel Navidad from Albay was named the second runner-up.
Following the success of the inaugural Miss CosmoWorld Philippines pageant, attention now turns to ongoing international beauty searches taking place worldwide. As the stage lights dimmed for the dazzling contestants and the new queen begins her training for the bigger battle ahead, the pageant organizers still had more good news to share.
Meiji Cruz, the reigning Miss CosmoWorld and Chairperson of Miss CosmoWorld Philippines, expressed her satisfaction with the quality of contestants who participated in the competition. She praised the deserving and experienced pageant candidates as well as the high-potential first-timers who showcased their talent. Cruz also highlighted the pageant’s advocacy of financial literacy, which aims to shape and mold the contestants’ business acumen for better financial management.
A week after the coronation night, the remaining four finalists, chosen from the final cut of seven, were honored at the Madison Lounge of Hilton Manila in Newport World Resorts. They were crowned for their ambassadorial titles representing the Miss CosmoWorld organization. The lucky winners were Roella Frias from Calumpit, Bulacan, named Miss Entrepreneurship; Aliyah Rohilla from Albay as Miss Trade and Industry; Gezza Avila from Quezon Province as Miss Tourism; and Rian Maclyn Dela Cruz from Malolos, Bulacan as Miss Youth.
Each ambassadorial queen will be involved in specific events relevant to their respective titles. Frias will represent the organization at events focused on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and skills training programs. Rohilla, who aspires to be an aviation mechanic, will participate in affairs related to trade and industry as well as the country’s chambers of commerce and industry. Avila will collaborate with tourism leaders, hotels, and hospitality industries to promote the Philippines as a tourist destination. Dela Cruz, a young politician seeking an SK Chairperson position in the forthcoming Barangay and SK elections, will dedicate her efforts to empowering the youth and contributing to the country’s growth.
